Ah... Eh?

Hey guess what, I was writing an amusing entry for my blog and then I accidentally pressed the wrong button and WIPED IT ALL! I thought I would feel awful, but all I feel is emptiness....... Don't expect anything great now, I've poured out all the humour and irony that has been welling up inside of me this week and it's been lost in that crazy aether we know as 'cyberspace'. Here's the gag that was going to be the piece de resistance of the original post. It seems so lame and pointless now....... I got a new job this week in a lab at a winery (no, the joke hasn't started yet) and I thought I attach a picture of the team hard at work:

Ha ha geddit? You see that's not really my workplace, it's just a picture I found online! And that's not really me in the picture either! Isn't that hilarious?

Ahhhh, go fly a kite.

That's A Moray!

11:21 on a Tuesday morning and I've completed my daily routine consisting of surfing the net whilst consuming a hot, caffeinated drink. "What now?", I'm asking myself. I do have some uni homework to do and some things to organise for work, but hey, while my appetite remains suppressed by the aforementioned mocha I reckon I'll tap out a few words to all the people that value my insight and biting political satire (at last check that group consisted only of my mother, Rowdy and old Mr. Samick from number 10).

Anyhoo, so last post I mentioned a little moving picture called 'Crash' and lo and behold the next week it goes on to win an Oscar. How 'bout that. Actually I was a bit surprised that 'Crash' got the gong, because while it was good, I didn't think it was THAT good. Last Tuesday, I went to see 'Syriana' with a couple of friends. You know, 'Syriana', that movie in which George Clooney has a monster beard. Truth be told, this one will make you think, but watching it as an Australian there is a strange kind of detachment from the plot. It's all about the lengths that governments and corporations will go to to secure oil fields. Some of it is quite frightening, but you gotta understand that some people really want that oil! My special tip is to watch out for the fingernail scene....... (shiver).

I you want to see some pictures of my life and times, please stop by http://spaces.msn.com/rodneyspongo/ and have a gander. I try to update it semi-regularly.

Au revoir.

A Long Time Between Drinks

Ha! Got you! The post has the same name, but the words have changed. What's more there seems an extremely witty picture where there was no picture before. Yes that's right trendsetters, today, in a moment of pure boredom and confusion, I posted from a Chinese friends computer simply for the fact that it seemed 'random' and 'interesting'. The lustre soon wore off and I meant to save the post as a draft, but I accidently posted it. And for all of you who are shaking your heads in disapproval, step off, I can't read Chinese yet!

Anyhoo, I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I better satsify the punters and tap out some light-hearted banter about movies, politics and the dynamic milieu that is my life. Sod it. How about I just tell you to watch 'Million Dollar Baby' because it's really good and no, it's not just about the boxing. Mo Cuishla, need I say more. 'Crash' is quite confronting, it deals with the racism that seems to be present in most people in different forms. What links these films (seamless) is that they were both produced by Robert Moresco, I look forward to checking out his next project.

If you're looking for something a bit left of centre, check out 'The Jacket' starring Adrien Brody and Keira Knightley. An interesting take on the whole time travel genre and the original music was composed by Brian Eno of 'Roxy Music' fame. Check out his story and slightly wacky full name at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Eno. Oh yeah, and I really hate seeing Kris Kristofferson trying to act. Please Kris, stick to things you're good at like having initials that consist of the same letter repeated.

Well, I've an early lecture tomorrow so toodles for now.
